passion project

My passion protect is about science. These are my links.

physics This one is about density. The materials you need are salt (you will need a lot of salt), water, bowls/glasses and eggs. Watch the video to find out the steps and the science behind it.

baking soda vs vinegar This one is a great chemical reaction. The materials you need are baking soda, a bowl/glass and vinegar. Watch the video to find out  the steps. Baking soda is also known as sodium bicarbonate  and when you add the vinegar it releases the gas called  carbon dioxide and that creates the bubbling affect.

I chose to do science as my passion project because at the start of the project I only knew a few  science experiments and I really  like science. I did intend to do more but I did not like them that much. My favorite is the baking soda experiment. This is my reflection.

Passion Projects Reflection

Please answer all of the following questions

Describe your passion project. What was your learning in it? What were you trying to produce?

At the start of the project it was a talk and show the experiments.

How far did you get with your passion project? What would have helped you to get further?
It was about 97% finished because I forgot to do the science on an experiment so it was not finished.

What was the most challenging part of your passion project?
Choosing what experiments to do because there are thousands of experiments.

What was surprising about your passion project?
Definitely the results like the size of the vinegar experiment  it was smaller than I expected

Did you follow your plan well? Why or why not?
No only the part about the science. I displayed it on two videos instead of a talk.I followed about 4% of the plan

Which learning muscles did you use the most while you were working on your passion project? How did you use each one? Noticing: I noticed my errors.

Which learning muscles did you find difficult to stretch during passion project time?
Collaboration muscle because I was the only person doing science.

Include a picture/embedded link to your passion project
If you were allowed to pick a new passion project, what would you choose and why?
A movie because I like to act a lot.

What was your favourite part of passion projects? Probably that there was not a very strict success criteria.

  5. Hi Mac. Thanks for teaching me about how to make water dense by dissolving a lot of salt in water, I didn't know this science fact that you demonstrated in your passion project. Keep up the awesome learning!

  6. Mac, thank you for sharing your passion about science. I enjoyed watching your videos especially the excitement showing on your face as you did each experiment! Even though the vinegar experiment overflowed and you weren't expecting it to be quite like that you just kept on with your learning. Great explaining of the science for each experiment too. Well done! PS. I love science experiments too! Mrs Ramsay
